ABOUT SIMI YOUTH BASEBALL
For over 45 years, Simi Youth Baseball has been an essential part of community life in Simi Valley. Tens of thousands of young men and women have gone through our Pony League program and learned the value of fair play, teamwork and dedication to excellence. In turn, Simi Youth Baseball has been sustained by community leaders who have provided spacious, accessible, well-maintained fields, clean facilities, capacious stands and ample parking, making it one of the finest youth baseball complexes in Southern California.
The fields are close to major Southern California attractions and transportation hubs, offers an array of reasonably priced accommodations.

SYB BASEBALL COMPLEX
The Simi Youth baseball complex was renovated in 2004 at a cost of over $300,000. The complex includes five fields suitable for Shetland competition and two suitable for Pony level. Four of the five infields are laid with Progreen brand synthetic grass that was installed in 2004. Outfields are natural grass and are well-maintained by a professional grounds crew. Both infields and outfields have state-of-the-art drainage systems. The five fields are positioned to minimize glare from early morning and late afternoon sun. The parking lots are situated above the fields so there is no glare off reflected windshields.
There are four fully enclosed batting cages on site for team warm ups.
Four of the fields have electronic scoreboards controlled from an indoor scoring booth and each field has shaded visitor and home grandstands. An 800 square foot snack area with four windows services the complex. There are permanent men’s and women’s restroom facilities. A separate shaded picnic area with two barbecue pits can accommodate several teams. There is plenty of additional shaded grassy area for teams to congregate.
The complex is located in a safe and secure area off of a private road.
SYB TOURNAMENTS
For over a decade, Simi Youth Baseball has been hosting consistent, well-run tournaments. Simi Youth Baseball offers tournaments about a dozen times a year (Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, President’s Day, etc.) and we specialize in well-produced events. In 2006 we hosted two Pony Sanctioned All-Star tournaments; District Tournament for all divisions and Regions for Bronco & Shetland.
In addition to hosting, our players and families have been involved in several World Series tournaments and we know what is involved to host a tournament. In fact, between our Shetland, Pinto & Pony divisions, SYB has participated in the World Series for the last 3 years.
UMPIRES
We have a strong, experienced umpire pool, appreciated here for their fairness and their calm under pressure. Our umpires don’t want to make a call too early – they watch the whole play. All SYB umpires have tournament experience and many of them umpire at the High School level. Since we have been to the World Series (at several different locations) our Board understands what is expected from an umpire crew at the World Series level. We believe that we can make the tournament itself a great experience for the players and the families.
